The Team
Tony Anthony - evangelist & team leader
In
the 1980s Tony Anthony was three-times world Kung Fu champion.
He
worked in the violent world of personal protection for some of the most
powerful and influential people in the world, before ending up on
prison in Cyprus.
In prison God met with him,
gave him a new
heart and his life was changed round. Today Tony is a devoted follower
of Jesus Christ, and he serves as an evangelist. He proclaims the good
news of Jesus around the UK and increasingly around the world through
his Avanti-Ministries
organisation. He has a burning passion to
motivate, train and mobilise others to share the gospel effectively.
Tony's
story is told in the double-award-winning book "Taming the
Tiger". This is a thrilling story of being rescued by God from the
depths of despair and having his life transformed. It's a good book to
give to non-believers of all ages. Click here

Newton was raped on a sailing boat in her early twenties. Broken
and confused, she developed a new reckless outlook to her life choices,
making decisions that were to lead her into risky situations. He parents and early childhood faith were tested to the limit when she left home at seventeen. Her journey eventually took her to East London where she explored the highs and lows of life through a number of unfulfilling relationships.
Contentment eluded Sonya until after she became a single mother at 25. After moving to a flat in Southend, and giving birth to a lovely daughter Alia, she began to sense a new desire to reconnect with God.
Today, Sonya is married to Richard and lives in the UK. She is a very gifted communicator of the Gospel with Avanti. She is available to do talks in prisons, schools, outreach events and missions. Sonya has a great passion to spread the Gospel to the world and encourage others to do the same.
Jamie Kidd - evangelist
Jamie had a rough start to life following the divorce of his parents. After his mother’s remarriage a brief spell of happiness followed but Jamie's life changed for the worseIn his early teens w hen h e was racially abused at school. Broken and confused, Jamie now began to self harm and turn to drink. Developing an aggressive attitude and mixing with the wrong crowd he soon got involved in petty theft which led into robbery. Jamie was no stranger to the police.
After a brief spell trying to rebuild a lost relationship with his natural father in America his situation spiralled out of control with alcohol and drugs and even homelessness.
Having left school with no qualifications and going through life feeling like a failure, Jamie decided to join the Army, and went through three weeks of training to become a paratrooper, one of the toughest and most respected of regiments in the world.
Jamie thought he had found what was missing in his life. He was now travelling the world and had money, friends and a new lifestyle fuelled with violence, alcohol and prostitutes. God however had a different plan for Jamie and dramatically captured his attention through two near-death experiences: once during the invasion of Iraq, and later through a parachute malfunction whilst training in the U.K.
Jamie recalls this event as having the blindfold removed from his eyes, revealing a very real God to him.
Today, Jamie is happily married to Amy and lives in Colchester. He is a very gifted and anointed evangelist with Avanti Ministries and is available to talk in prisons, schools or at outreach events. Jamie has a burning passion to spread the Gospel to the world, and encourage others to do the same.
